ASK CHAPLAIN ROYAL…

I have received a couple of emails asking, “What is a divorce ceremony?”  That is a good question, especially since we have not experienced many of them, here in the Mid-West.

Coming together to form a union of love, trust and relationship involves more than just two people.  It also involves their children (if they have them), pets, family, friends and everyone else in between.

A wedding ceremony, no matter how big or how small, says we love each other; please respect us as a family unit.

In our life journeys what we set out to accomplish, develop goals for, and what we want is something that sometimes simply does not happen.  There are times that people realize that although they like each other, and perhaps love each other, they are not meant to be a family unit or in a relationship.  And that, despite what we have been taught, is ok.

A divorce ceremony simply unties the knot that was created during your wedding ceremony AND it shares with your friends and family that they do not have to choose sides, you ALL can remains friends.

Certainly some divorce ceremonies will end with a big sigh of relief, many WILL end with a hug, a tear, and the knowledge that the other still loves for and cares for the other.

If you know a family member or friend who is in the beginning stages of ending their marriage, this might be a good way for them to continue the relationship in a healthy way.
